I've always feared having a kid puke all over their carseat in the middle of a trip and it happened! The day before we left Gracie kept saying her belly hurt and Lindsey started puking. We thought about not going until it passed, but the next day no one puked and the trip was already squeezed into one week so Tim wouldn't miss too much work, so we headed out. Poor Cooper puked when we we had only gone about 4 or 5 hours. We wiped his carseat out as best as we could with wipes and sprayed it with Febreeze. I hated putting him back in it but we were almost stopped for the night.
Gracie puked in the motel bed the first night and we almost headed back to Alabama. We were so looking forward to Idaho though and we knew we would all be disappointed, so we trudged on. All in all the drive from Alabama to Idaho is 28 HOURS!!!
On day 2 poor Cooper pooped out in his carseat and the girls hadn't regained their appetites. We finally made it though and it felt so good to see family and get the carseats properly cleaned!!! We were so glad we hadn't turned back, especially when ward members from Alabama were calling to check on us and offer their basements because tornadoes were hitting back home while we were in Idaho. So scary!!!
We had a blast with family and wish we could have stayed longer!
On the way to Idaho we stopped in Brigham City, UT to visit Grandma Christensen and we got to see Matt too! When Gracie was listing off everyone we would see in Idaho and we told her she might not see Matt because he was at school she almost started crying. I don't know if I've told you Matt, but you remind me of a mix of David Archuletta and Taylor Lautner (Jacob from Twilight) Haha!!!Our Corless family watched the kids so that we could go to the temple and Kirsten and Elizabeth took us to the Idaho Falls Museum to see their dinosaur exhibit! It was really fun and I think the kids really enjoyed themselves! It's fun that they're starting to get old enough to actually participate in things.Tim was hissing at this dinosaur and Lindsey got a little scared. We tried to have her open her mouth too but she didn't want anything to do with it!
There's a cute children's area in the museum with a lot of fun things that are age-appropriate.
Trying to see fish in the tank.
The kids with Grandma Corless!
Granddad is tickling Lindsey's belly in this picture to try and get her to smile.
Grandma wore pigtails for New Beginnings and we told them all to stick their tongues out, but the girls left Grandma all alone for that one! Poor Grandma!
Lindsey is supposed to be kissing her other cheek, but as you can tell she is pouting about something.
It was so fun to see the kids with their cousin Oakley again and they were so excited to meet their new cousin Kassie!!! I love watching kids interact with one another! Oakley started squealing with excitement when she saw us. It was so cute!
Me and my sisters. Poor Sarah got really sick while we were there so she didn't get to visit much.
Uncle Tim with Oakley!!!
Cooper with his new Aunt Nichole!!!
Granny threw a Lilo and Stitch party for all the grandkids and they had a blast!
The kids hula dancing with the movie!
Surfing!!! They were all grins and giggles and Tim and my Dad took them on individual "rides" around the room on the surf board. Unfortunately most of my pictures were blurry, but they sure did have fun!
Blowing bubbles!
Goldfish eating contest - mouths only!
Gracie finally got to play in the snow!!! It only snowed twice in Alabama this winter and it melted before it even hit the ground. She kept begging to go out and I was too cold so we sent her out when my Dad got home from work.
She "helped" my Dad feed his quail and dog, PB. She always remembers that the letter "Q" is for Grandpa's quail!
Trying to build a snowman. She didn't get to finish because I made her come in since it was so cold and I had pawned her off on my Dad.
The girls finally got to meet cousin Kassie! She is such a cutie and they had a blast playing together!
Lindsey brought this pillow and blanket over to my Dad and turned him into her bed. She is definitely Grandpa's girl!
Finally, the Wedding Day!!! The reason we got to see everyone! Heidi curled all the girls' hair and provided clothes once again. We sure are spoiled! Thanks Heidi!
My handsome man!!!
This is what you get when you try to photograph kids!!! Haha!!!
And finally, thanks to Heidi, one turned out!!!
Right before the big event!!! Lindsey and Uncle Dan on his wedding day!!!
Gracie with Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Steve! All the kids were running around crazy and Gracie was just sitting prim and proper on a chair. I told her to run around with the kids and she said, "Why are they doing that?" like it was completely beneath her. HA!!! When did she grow up?
Lindsey trying to make this little girl dance with her. So cute!
Uncle Brandon and Oakley Paige!!!
Lindsey fell asleep pretty much as we were pulling out of the church parking lot!
Dan and Nichole exchanging rings!!! Again I had blurry pictures so I stole some from facebook too!
They are such a cute couple and Kassie is a little doll!!!
It was such a fun trip and we were blessed with safety in our travels. The kids really did well. . . they always do. We've drug them across the country so many times now poor things. It really made me hope that we can move closer to family someday. I don't want to miss out on anything with family!!! We miss everyone so much!
I was sad that we had to leave before the reception but we had to get 28 hours in by Sunday night so that Tim could be to work on Monday. It was good that we didn't leave too late because the kids don't do well traveling at night when they want to be in bed but are trapped in carseats.
