School Pictures

It's crazy how much growth happens in just one year! Here's my little Roo in Kindergarten and then First Grade. She is so beautiful! I love her so much!

I purchased a photo package last year and didn't get a CD with it, but from now on I'll just buy the CD because then you can order whenever you want and you can share it on blogs, Facebook, etc. Her Kindergarten picture below is a photo of a photo since I don't have a digital copy of it.

The CD had pictures in color, black and white, sepia, and close-ups. I was impressed because I thought there would just be one image on the CD and then I would have to do the editing.

And here's my little Lindsey Lee! What a cutie! Love her so much! It's going to be so much fun looking at these pictures each year and seeing how they change. Poor little sweetie got a scratch right under her nose the day before pictures. You might not have noticed it if I didn't tell you though. Haha!

I love how the sepia makes it look like a previous generation with her shirt and hairbow. This reminds me of some pictures I've seen of my Mom when she was little. :)

Lindsey's Field Trip!

Every year the Kindergarten classes go on a field trip to Tate Farms pumpkin patch. When Gracie found out I was going with Lindsey she said, "You're going Mommy?" I could hear the hurt in her voice and her little eyes welled up with tears. It broke my heart and I almost started crying. I wanted soooo badly to go with her last year, but the field trip was the week of my thyroid surgery. I had still planned on going, but my hospital stay that was only supposed to be two days ended up being a five day stay because my calcium levels were too low. I remember crying in the hospital too when I knew I was going to miss her field trip. I explained this to Gracie and told her how sad it had made me when I had to stay at the hospital and I told her that if the First Graders went on a field trip I would go with her. I sure hope they have one. I was grateful that Mrs. Wilfong took pictures on the field trip and one with Gracie in it ended up in the yearbook, so I at least got to see her on the field trip.

It was fun to spend some time with Lindsey and see how she interacts with her classmates. She was being so shy and when I said that to her, her teacher said that she never makes a sound. Her little friend told me, "She always bees good," and she patted Lindsey's head. Too cute! Lindsey came across as the runt of the litter to me, and it seemed that everyone was watching out for her and taking care of her. It was so sweet! She is definitely the youngest of the group, where she was still four when school started.

Here's the whole bunch! It's so nice to see small class sizes!

The petting zoo was so fun. I think I enjoyed petting the animals as much as the kids did.

They had a blast burying each other in the giant corn box.

It was fun to see Mrs. Martin and all of us parents on the big bouncer right along with the kids!

On the hayride heading out to the pumpkin patch . . .

After I took one picture with some friends at lunch, a couple other girls came over asking to be in the picture too. It's fun to see my kids growing up and making friends!

School Fun!

There have been so many fun things going on at the girls' school! I must admit, I am enjoying this school-age stage a lot more than the baby stage.

The school had a movie night in the brand new cafeteria. They played the Lego movie and concessions were open. I think it is a great idea, and they've since had another movie night, but we did end up leaving early. I don't like the Lego movie and the kids have already seen it, so I told them we could either stay and finish it, or go get ice-cream cones. They chose ice-cream! I'm terrible, I know.

They're doing a Watch Dawgs program at the school with Dads, so they had a special night for the kids and their Dads to come and eat pizza and learn more about the program.

These are some photos that were posted on the PTO Facebook page. Gracie eating lunch (front and center before she got a haircut) and Lindsey in the library.

Vocabulary Parade! Gracie wanted to wear her Grandma outfit so we chose Archaic for her. I found Lindsey's Vanity idea online. They both did a great job representing their word!

Watch closely in this second video for when Gracie and Lindsey spot each other and wave. Sooo cute! Too bad the principal was standing right between me and them right after that. Haha!

They did a Boosterthon Fun-Run again this year and I was so proud of the girls! They both ran/walked 35 laps! Thank you so much Granny, Uncle Matt, Aunt Sarah, Aunt Mary, and Grandma Cosgray for your pledges!

First Grade and Kindergarten ran at the same time in two different loops, which worked out well because with 35 laps, there was plenty of time to go back and forth from one to the other to cheer and take pictures. They always have a water booth for kids to stop and get drinks too.

Here's Gracie . . .

And Lindsey . . .

Lindsey and Olivia had just finished hugging in the picture below, but they were too quick for the camera. It was so cute and sweet!

The little cheerleaders! Little stinks! Olivia was so mad when I had her strapped in the stroller so that I could take pictures, especially since I was running back and forth. She was happy when I finally let her out. Cooper had been playing in a puddle and took off his socks and shoes. I should have strapped him in the stroller too! :)

Livi was enjoying dancing to the music!

I grabbed the girls at the end so that I could get their picture together. I'm so proud of them!

Here's all the fun prizes they got for pledges! Thank you so much Granny, Uncle Matt, Aunt Sarah, Aunt Mary, and Grandma Cosgray! You sure made these little girls happy!
