Lindsey's Field Trip!

Every year the Kindergarten classes go on a field trip to Tate Farms pumpkin patch. When Gracie found out I was going with Lindsey she said, "You're going Mommy?" I could hear the hurt in her voice and her little eyes welled up with tears. It broke my heart and I almost started crying. I wanted soooo badly to go with her last year, but the field trip was the week of my thyroid surgery. I had still planned on going, but my hospital stay that was only supposed to be two days ended up being a five day stay because my calcium levels were too low. I remember crying in the hospital too when I knew I was going to miss her field trip. I explained this to Gracie and told her how sad it had made me when I had to stay at the hospital and I told her that if the First Graders went on a field trip I would go with her. I sure hope they have one. I was grateful that Mrs. Wilfong took pictures on the field trip and one with Gracie in it ended up in the yearbook, so I at least got to see her on the field trip.

It was fun to spend some time with Lindsey and see how she interacts with her classmates. She was being so shy and when I said that to her, her teacher said that she never makes a sound. Her little friend told me, "She always bees good," and she patted Lindsey's head. Too cute! Lindsey came across as the runt of the litter to me, and it seemed that everyone was watching out for her and taking care of her. It was so sweet! She is definitely the youngest of the group, where she was still four when school started.

Here's the whole bunch! It's so nice to see small class sizes!

The petting zoo was so fun. I think I enjoyed petting the animals as much as the kids did.

They had a blast burying each other in the giant corn box.

It was fun to see Mrs. Martin and all of us parents on the big bouncer right along with the kids!

On the hayride heading out to the pumpkin patch . . .

After I took one picture with some friends at lunch, a couple other girls came over asking to be in the picture too. It's fun to see my kids growing up and making friends!
