In one of the Smithsonian Museums there was an area where butterflies were kept and I thought the girls would love it. However, my darling Gracie was
petrified and freaked out every time a butterfly would come near and she swatted at a few to get them away from her. So weird!!! I don't know why she was afraid of them, unless she associated it with the birds at the zoo when they flew after her and Lindsey and Sarah. Haha!!! She was trembling, the poor thing!!! Lindsey was fine with it though and she kept gazing at them with her little arms resting on the ledge. These two girls are so different!!!
Don't you love how Gracie is trying to smile but keeping her eyes on the lookout for those
scary butterflies at the same time!?!
So, I had the
brilliant idea of driving to DC with Sarah and the girls while Cooper stayed home with Tim. The girls were tired and cranky and bored and pushing a double stroller through crowds of people who always expect you to move instead of them put us all in a terrible mood and just made us tired for the rest of Sarah's visit.
The Washington Monument
This was Lindsey's face in practically every picture.
The Capitol Building
The White House
The Lincoln Memorial
The Reflecting Pool was under construction and didn't have any water in it so I was a bit dissapointed but the main thing I wanted to see was the Lincoln Memorial so at least we got to see it.
