Poor Cooper's ear started draining all kinds of yuck yesterday so I immediately started worrying and called to make him a doctor appointment today. He's had a runny nose for a couple weeks now. Taking all three kids to the doctor's office is anything but fun and I didn't want to get a babysitter because the girls are sick too. I am so grateful that Tim's employers have always been understanding and supportive of family so Tim was able to meet up with us at the doctor's office and watch the girls while I took Cooper in.
The doctor said that the drainage from his ear meant that the tubes were doing their job. She said that if he didn't have tubes all that goo coming out would be stuck behind his eardrum and he would be in a lot of pain. I was so relieved and it made me feel better about the decision to get him tubes in the first place. I am also grateful that she gave him a prescription because she said if the runny nose has lasted this long and started draining out the ear, then it was probably a sign of sinus infection. I hate going to the doctor and being told there is nothing we can do but wait so I am so thankful that he has the medicine.
Tim went back to work and I took the kids to Wendy's (I know I always complain about Moms taking their sick kids places to share their germs with everyone but it was lunchtime and I was afraid Cooper would fall asleep on the way home before he got lunch and his nap would be all messed up). Anyway, everyone kept smiling at the kids and several people came up to me to compliment me on how well behaved my children were. It made me so happy! They really are good kids and I love them so much! I'm thankful for the kind words strangers gave me about my little darlings! I am a truly blessed Momma!

I am so glad little Cooper is doing better! You have a wonderful family and you and Tim are excellent parents!!!!! I can't wait to get there and squeeze you all. O.K. Tim, I won't squeeze you...I could tell you were worrying about that! LOL
ReplyDeleteYes, you are a blessed momma and Tim and the kids are blessed to have you! I hope they all get healthy before the new little (?) one arrives. Carla, I give you permission to squeeze Tim since I don't know when I'll get to. The hardest part with all these wonderful things happening is that I don't know when we'll ever get to hold Olivia! Thank goodness for Skype and Kristi's blog! Love and miss you all!!!
