Four kids four and under is TOUGH!!! This morning I found Lindsey pooping her pants in the bedroom. I rushed her to the bathroom while Olivia was crying in the background, hungry. She had to wait because Lindsey would need cleaned up when she was finished. Lindsey got done and I picked up Olivia to feed her (she was screaming by now) and Cooper tells me, "Mom, Poopy!" AaaHhhh! So I put Olivia back down to change him. It's a good thing he told me because he would have been a raw mess because it was way runny. Olivia had worn herself out by the time she got fed. To top it all off, at the end of her meal, she had her first blow out. Wonderful!
The meat I was going to put in the crockpot for dinner is still in the fridge and its now lunch time, so there goes dinner plans. Cooper peed out his diaper last night so I washed his bedding. I just finished making his bed with the clean bedding just to realize I didn't put the mattress pad on first, so redo.
Meal times have been tough too. For example, I got breakfast for the older 3 kids and then started to feed Olivia. Immediately the older 3 started asking for more juice, more cereal, etc. and I realized how helpless they all are. They can't get themselves more of anything without making a mess and Cooper gets so messy that he can't get down from the table without someone cleaning him up. Needless to say, it is chaos around here most of the time.
If anyone asks me if they should have their kids close together, I would probably suggest at least having the previous child potty trained before having another. We've pretty much had two in diapers since Lindsey was born. Diapers are easier than having poopy underpants and puddles everywhere while potty training though. It would be nice to be done with that before having a new one to take care of.
Other Moms who have had their kids so close tell me that it's rough when they're little but great when they're older so if I can just make it through these first few years, hopefully it will get easier.
With all that being said, I really do love each one of them so much and couldn't imagine life without them! I truly am blessed and grateful for each one of these sweet little spirits. I just need a vacation. Haha!!! And what a blessing that Olivia has been such a good baby and only wakes up once each night. Thanks baby girl!

Oh, man! I don't know how you do it! Hang in there. You are a great mom!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing great! I really admire you. We as women are always too hard on ourselves. Sometimes I have to remind myself not to look at the mess and the chaos, but to look at my children and see if they are happy and feel loved. That's what they'll remember when they grow up, and I know your children feel loved!
