Gracie had to wait a LONG time for her birthday this year. Haha! That was all we heard about for the whole month of January, and I even found this note in her dresser at the beginning of the month. I laughed so hard when I found it!
Tim was home on her birthday, so I thought it would be fun to surprise her at school and eat lunch with her. I brought her a Happy Meal from McDonalds. She was so shy while I was there. She just smiled and nodded her head at me and wouldn't talk. I called her "Baby Roo" at one point and she quickly glanced around at her friends to check if any of them heard me call her that. Too funny!
Her teacher told me that I needed to come to the room and see a story Gracie had written earlier that day. She was saving it to take it to some sort of meeting after school to show a sample of her students' work. I'm so proud of my smart, beautiful girl!!! All the kids got to pick two stickers for their picture, and then they had to think of a story to go with them. If you click on the picture, it should get larger so that you can see it better.
As soon as she got home we went straight to opening presents! Thank you everyone for spoiling her once again!!! She loved all her gifts and cards! She picked out the dress she is wearing while we were at the store and she wanted to wear it on her birthday. Little Sweetie!
Reading her cards all by herself . . .
Olivia was trying to put Gracie's headband back on.
Talking on the phone . . .
I've decided to start letting the kids pick out their own cake and decorate it all by themselves. That way the pressure is off of me, and they love it that much more since it is their own! She picked a pink strawberry cake with blue frosting!
Six years has just flown by! I love my little Grace and can't imagine life without her! Happy Birthday Little Roo!!! We love you so much!
