Uncle Roger and Aunt Bethany invited us to Wyndham Resorts in The Smokies. It was about a four hour drive and Olivia cried almost the whole last hour. Then that night she threw up several times. I was so looking forward to a fun vacation but just ended up feeling frazzled and exhausted. Little kids are too much work! They are all still in the stage where you need to immediately find a restroom when you see them wiggling and Olivia was getting into everything in the room we stayed in so we were constantly battling her. Vacations are NOT the same when you're the parent. When we got home I just bawled!
The resort was beautiful and there are a lot of fun things to do. We kept saying "when the kids are older . . ."
We did have fun at the indoor water-park area!
Poor Little Sweetie! You can tell in these pictures that she is still pale and sick from throwing up the night before. And yes, I felt bad bringing her down to share her germs in the pool, but it was WAY chlorinated and we had to do something fun.
This was a wave pool that would start waves on some sort of timer. The girls were excited until the tube flipped on them and poor Grace was stuck underneath it for a bit. She cried and said she didn't like the waves. Poor girl! All these pictures were taken when the waves were not going.
Sweet little wave! She always smiles and waves now. So cute!
I took the girls back out in the waves to try and help Gracie not be afraid of them. It seemed to help, but it was hard to hold both girls at the same time!
Aunt Bethany was working on some quilts and Gracie and Lindsey "helped". Thanks for being patient with them Aunt Bethany! Gracie was organizing the pieces in front of her to help with the quilting. These pictures are in the living area of the place we stayed. It had four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a laundry room, and this living area with complete kitchen, all connected for the family. So nice!!!
Thanks Roger and Bethany! Sorry we weren't very fun this time around! We really appreciate it and hope to get together again in the future!
What a fun place! You kids are all so cute! I bet vacations are much harder with kids, but I bet they had a fun time! It is hard to not feel well and to try to take care of everyone else, too. Hang in there, Kristi! Get some rest if you can. Love you all and I can't wait to see you! Plan on some babysitting so you can relax when you get here!
