We were so excited that Granny and Grandpa got to come and spend Fall Break with us!!!
I wanted to cry when we didn't get to the airport before them, but it was still sweet when we found them at baggage claim and little Grace went running as fast as she could to get to them!
We got to do so many fun things with them, starting at the Rocket Center.
They just switched over from the Robot Zoo to Science Fiction, Science Future. When you faced this robot head, it copied your facial expressions.
This thing showed an outline of your body, and I think your skeleton, and it moved as you moved.
We really got into this game that had a ball/marble in the center of the table, and just using your mind, you tried to get the ball to your opponents side before they got it to yours. Very interesting.
Granny verses Grandpa . . .
Grandpa got to fly an Apache helicopter simulation.
So cute that Olivia is pretending to take a picture of Granny in the one below. At least that's what it looks like she is doing.
Livi didn't want to ride this time.
We went on a little adventure to find some cotton. The field I remembered this walking trail taking us by was on rotation with soybeans, but on the way to our old house, we found a perfect cotton field right by a church parking lot.
Huge cotton bales . . .
We always love the botanical gardens, so we had to go there too!
Olivia wanted to "help" Grandpa pull the wagon.
Every fall we go to Lyon Family Farms. They have so much to do!!! It seems like they add something new every year. Granny and Grandpa decided that this is what they should have been doing at their place every fall to earn some extra money since there isn't anything like this near Firth. I'm sure they'd pull in all the Shelley and Blackfoot families too!
Can you tell what Livi thought of the corn bin? Hahaha!
The ziplines were so fun! When we asked the kids what they liked best at the end of the day, they all said this. I wish there was an adult one!!!
The video of Cooper from the tower must have been too large for the blog video limit, so I'll have to post it on Facebook. I'm sad that all of the videos loaded on here but that one. Oh well, I guess. What's funny is that he forgot to bring the swing back up the hill so we were all yelling at him to go back and get it. That must be why his video was longer, he had to back track. Ha!
I remembered the right way to turn my phone for video after Gracie's first one, so sorry that hers is on it's side.
The pigs in the races were so cute! I wish we could have pet them.
This girl was so sweet to share her food with the kids and show them how to feed the horses.
Granny teaching Livi how to shoot . . .
Wouldn't you know it, there's a whole field of pumpkins, but the reds had to fight over the same one. Hahahaha! Little stinks! They were sure squealing at each other.
The kids wanted me to take pictures of their play-dough sculptures they made during conference.
Grandpa helping Cooper read the scriptures.
We had to eat at Steak and Shake!!!
I love this one because Cooper is looking at Granny.
Feeding the big fish at Bridge Street before riding the carousel.
I love how Granny had to hold Cooper's head back in the picture below because in the picture above he was completely blocking Olivia. Makes me laugh!
The kids loved playing games with Granny and Grandpa.
Olivia shoving a card in Grandpa's face. It's impossible to take a nap with my kids around!!!
The girls had to play Grandpa in chess since they were in chess club last year. He said they know what they're doing, or at least they know the proper moves for each piece.
Granny bought two new fun games to play! I love that the kids are getting old enough to understand and play games.
We had such a fun week and made so many great memories!!! Thank you so much for coming Mom and Dad! We miss you so much already. Love you!
Such a great time! I love all the activities you guys have to do there in Alabama! Cute pics!
