We got invited to a
ward member's house for a barbecue and they had a swimming pool. It was fun but there were a lot of people there so we didn't stay long (we aren't very social). I had Tim sit with the kids while I got in line for the food and Gracie came to help me. I put a hot dog on the plate she was holding and she immediately dipped her plate and lost it. I could see that this would probably keep happening so I told her to go back to Daddy.
I didn't think twice about it until later and I asked Tim if she was upset. He said she cried a little and said, "Mommy didn't want me!" It broke my heart! I didn't mean to hurt her feelings, she is just still too little to help with a lot of things. The kids always want to help load the dishwasher, fold clothes, etc. and I know you're supposed to let them help, but I get so frustrated because it just slows me down and makes more work for me. I'd much rather just do it myself and get it done quickly so that I can get other things done. Something I need to work on.
Anyway. . . we did a few little fireworks at home that night. We didn't wait until it got dark enough because the kids needed to get to bed. This picture pretty much sums up what Cooper thought of the whole experience.
The girls weren't too thrilled either.
Lindsey kept grabbing her chair and running behind the big chair with it to hide. Gracie covered her ears but she did say she liked them. When I was video taping I asked the girls whose birthday it was. Gracie said, "America!" and Lindsey said at the same time, "Lindsey's!" It was so cute!
New outfits from Grandma Cosgray and Aunt Cheryl! We also got more clothes and shoes from Granny and Heidi! Thanks so much for spoiling us everyone!!! We love our new clothes!

So cute! I love that the girls are holding hands! Oakley wasn't too impressed with the fireworks either! I kept telling her she needed her cousins here to play with! Glad you had a fun 4th!
